larger the scale, the more staff is required in order to

Where can we have our
wedding ceremony?
We are a mobile wedding
chapel that will create YOUR ceremony site on the
beach in front of your hotel, personal residence, beach
home, park beach, or you can have a small intimate elopement ceremony
in our indoor showroom chapel located in Kempsville
(accommodates up 20 people). If
you don't like sand, but like to stroll the boardwalk
instead, you may even want to have your ceremony in a garden
setting, gazebo on the water, inside a
hotel ballroom, or other indoor location!
We will set up at the venue of your choice if we can get
there! We do not
have a company owned beach front location.
What
are the ideal months
to have an outdoor
wedding?
During
the summertime, we
highly recommend
against afternoon
weddings (12 noon to
4pm) - 3 pm is the
hottest part of the
day - and
dehydration and heat
stroke can occur.
Spring time,
Summertime (morning
and evenings),
September - November
area nice months.
We have a great
climate, but do have
some months when it
is a cold or very
hot and humid - here
is the link to
www.Weather.com
- use zip code 23451
for the VA Beach
oceanfront - with
global warming
trends, it's
becoming difficult
to predict weather
temperatures.
You do want to make
sure that there are
NO SPECIAL EVENTS
scheduled in front
of your hotel - so
we recommend you
check out
www.vbfun.com
for the best list of
events at the
oceanfront. **You
don't want to plan
for a beautiful
beach ceremony only
to find out that the
Monster Truck
exhibition is in
front of your hotel! When
is the best day of
the week for our
wedding?
Peak tourist season with high summer time rates
apply just around
Memorial Day through
Labor Day.
Monday-Thursday
weddings are very
popular and will
save you money in
the long run, as
weekday rates are
typically less
expensive at the
hotels. Of course on
any major holiday,
room rates will be
higher.
I
want to get married
in Virginia Beach,
how do I get
started?
Most of our couples
seem to come from
out of state because
everyone knows,
Virginia is for
Lovers!
Are we able to meet
with you in person?
Absolutely! Victoria
will be happy to
schedule a personal
showroom appointment
with you. All arches
and wedding set ups
are on display.
What are
your hours for Ceremonies?
9:00AM to 7:00 pm
(Dusk)
fee Includes 1-1/2 hours on-site (rates begin 30
minutes before ceremony), delivery, set up, raking of sand
for bride and groom’s smooth path way, and then removal of
arch - you have no worries, just arrive for your ceremony!
We stay beachfront for any assistance required
*we secure and stake down our wedding arches **we
advise against mid afternoon beach front ceremonies due to
heat
Can we have
a sunrise or sunset ceremony?
WE do not offer sunrise
ceremonies due to cleaning of the beach and the complexity
of our ceremony sites, we are unable to set up in the dark.
There is No extra fee for sunset, but if you want wedding
pictures taken, allow one hour following your ceremony -
SUNRISE/SUNSET TIMES TABLE
Do you have any
Surcharge /Destination Travel Fees?
Usually based
on mileage and travel distance, we have an additional $35 fee to
travel to Pungo, Munden Point/Back Bay, Eastern Suffolk,
western Chesapeake, Portsmouth .. add $100 for travel to
W Suffolk, Newport News, Hampton,
Williamsburg --
Destination Weddings Out of Area
OBX - Outer Banks, Maryland, Eastern Shore - for
example, we're happy to travel, but we do charge a per diem and
hourly rate - please contact us for details!
Can we have a VOW
Renewal Ceremony?
Celebrating an anniversary
and renewing your wedding vows is a great idea!
We are happy to arrange that service for you and our
preferred marriage commissioners all perform beautiful
non-denominational vow renewal ceremonies.
What about
the rehearsal?
Typically held the day or night before
the wedding,
followed by the
rehearsal dinner!
Your wedding
coordinator gathers
the bridal party
together, meets you
at the ceremony
site, and you have a
run through of when
and how everyone
walks, where they
stand, etc. Most
of our ceremonies do
not need a
rehearsal, unless
you are having a
large bridal party.
Our fee to attend
and coordinate your
wedding rehearsal is
$150.00.
How long
does the wedding
ceremony last?
The
typical civil
ceremony length runs
between 10 to 20
minutes long -
depending on if you
have any special
readings, music, or
performing a sand
ceremony. It then
takes about 30-45
minutes to take
wedding photos,
depending on the
size of your group.
What happens
if my ceremony does
not start on time?
Starting on time
depends on you and
your pre-planning!
We are set up 30
minutes prior to the
ceremony time,
allowing for guests
to gather and
mingle. Your
Marriage
Commissioner arrives
at least 15 minutes
prior to the
ceremony, and will
have multiple
weddings on any
given day. Our
services typically
include 1.5 hours of
beach front ceremony
site time.
Allowing one hour
for your ceremony
and post ceremony
photos to be taken.
After that one hour
time frame, you will
incur a $50 per half
hour extra fee if
you go over.
You will be charged
and receive a
bill following the
wedding. Not so much a
problem for us, but
your Marriage
Commissioner may
have to leave for
their next
commitment. We
suggest, always
start on time -
allow plenty of time
- PLAN - PLAN -
PLAN! We can
help you with your
Day Plan - please
inquire!
What is a Wedding
Director?
Our wedding director
not only coordinates the
timing of your
ceremony - when the
groom walks to the
arch with the
commissioner, when
the attendants walk,
when the brides
walks, but so much
more including pinning of
corsages and
boutonnieres,
preparation of your
personalized
timeline, ceremony
site plan, available
to you for email and
phone consultation
for ettiquette, etc.
Large bridal parties
and guest counts
(100+ guests)
requires a
director's team of 3
- we work with
headsets to
coordinate crowd
control - making
your day as perfect
as we can get it!
Alot goes on behind
the scenes - never
underestimate the
duties of your
Wedding Director!
What happens if it
rains?
Always a challenge,
but you are
responsible for
having a back up
plan at your hotel
or beach home.
We have an indoor
chapel at our bridal
showroom that accommodates up
to 20 guests total
in the actual
chapel, and it is
located about 10
miles inland from
the oceanfront.
Other guests can
surround in the
adjacent waiting
area. We
can easily
reschedule (at no
penalty to you) for
the following day
subject to the
Marriage
Commissioner's and
our wedding schedule
for that date.
Do you have
a
reception site?
Most
hotels have banquet
managers who will
coordinate the food
service and menu
portion of the
reception, but
that's about it.
Other planning
strategies for all
the accessory
details can play a
huge part in a
smooth wedding
reception - keep in
mind, you have a
reception hall for a
limited number of
hours, so if you
pre-plan your
events, you and your
guests will have a
great time!
Please ask us about
this service!
Can the tiki torches
be lit?
Sorry, the torches
cannot be lit for
beach front
ceremonies due to
City of Virginia
Beach code.
What is the Wish to
the Sea?
Our special "Wish to
the Sea" ceremony
follows the main
wedding ceremony.
It is a special
ceremony where after
the bride & groom
kiss and may have a
photo taken with the
marriage
commissioner, the
bride & groom lead
all guests back to
the arch, stopping
to take a small sand
dollar from the
shell which is
placed on a stand,
walking through the
wedding arch down to
the waters edge,
everyone makes a
silent wish for the
couple's future
together!
*upon arrival at the
beach front, all of
your guests are
given a small
information sheet
describing this
ceremony - it's a
wonderful way to
include everyone in
your wedding
ceremony!
Following the "wish
to the sea", picture
taking begins!
**in Hawaii, they
call it "blessing of
the stones**
What kind of wedding
music do you play?
We begin with a
variety of 30
minutes worth of
soft guest gathering
music, leading into
the processional /
bridal walk;
concluding the
ceremony with a
steel drum version
of the wedding march
recessional (the
kiss!), followed by
an additional 30
minutes worth of
romantically fun
music played during
the "Wish to the
Sea" and our wedding
photography down by
the water's edge.
Elopements -
I want to
get married right
away, can you help?
Depending on
Officiant
availability, we
always recommend
planning ahead!
During the summer
season, definitely
book in advance! We
would need to check
our wedding
calendar, as well as
the Marriage
Commissioner, It is
difficult to make
this happen on same
or one day's notice.
It's always best to
allow a couple days.
How can I
reserve my date?
To reserve your date
and time on our
calendar and book
your Officiant, we
require a retainer
of one-half of the total
amount for our
services that you
will be invoiced.
The retainer is
applied towards your
balance,
How can I
pay my retainer?
Retainers can be paid by check, cash,
credit card, Pay Pal
When is the
balance due?
The
balance is due on or
before 30 days
prior to the day of
the ceremony. We
offer an interest
free monthly payment
plan that easily
meets most budgets.
Marriage license
and other legal
information
Licenses are issued by the circuit
court. With photo
ID, the couple must
both go in person to get
your marriage
license from any
court house within
the State of
Virginia - it
doesn't have to be
in Virginia
Beach. Information
on wedding licenses
can be found at
http://www.vbgov.com. The
Fee is $30.00
cash for the
license, it is valid
anywhere in the
State of Virginia
and is valid for 60
days. You must
apply together in
person with picture
ID. In Virginia
Beach, be sure to
leave your camera
cell phones in your
car, as when you
enter through the
scanner, you would
have to return the
phone to your car.
Unlike other states,
witnesses are not
required in
Virginia. A Blood
test is not
required in the
State of Virginia.
Divorced?
You do not need a
copy of your divorce
decree,
Who will marry us?
We have a unique selection of wedding
officiants,
typically a marriage
commissioner
licensed by the
State of Virginia; also known as a
Justice of the Peace, commissioned
by the local circuit
court Judge.
You can also have
your personal
family Pastor,
Minister, Reverend
or Rabi officiate
your ceremony, but
be sure they
complete the
Virginia Beach court
paperwork - there's
a bit of red tape
involved. A
marriage
commissioner
typically performs a
Civil ceremony with
little if no
religious overtone.
Prayers may be added
by request - usually
references to 1st
Corinthians is
included in their
ceremonies. Check
with us ahead of
time.
Personal Vows or Statements
It's always more personal
to
write your own vows
or a brief love
letter to each other
to read at the
ceremony following
the traditional vow
exchange -if you need
assistance, don't
hesitate to contact
us for suggestions, it's always part
of our service to
you after you book
with us!
Where
can we stay for our
wedding? Depending on the time of year, some oceanfront
hotels may give you
a small discount off
a block of rooms for
you and your guests.
If you are not
staying at a hotel
at the oceanfront,
and prefer a
somewhat less
crowded area, we can
suggest renting a
beach home at the
southern end of
Virginia Beach at
Sandbridge beach
area, and you can
make reservations
through
Siebert Realty
or
Sandbridge Realty.
a condo on the bay
near Chick's Beach
off Shore Drive
(best sunsets)
Chicks Beach
Rentals,
or enjoy an
oceanfront condo
Atkinson Realty
- accommodations are
available for all
budgets!
When
won't you set up for
wedding ceremonies -
what are your days
off? We do like to take a day off every once in a while
and avoid the big
tourist crowds that
keep us from getting
near the beach to
unload our wedding
arches, and to spend
time with our
family. We
are not available
for the following:
New Year's Day,
Valentine's Day
Evening after 2pm,
Easter Sunday,
Mother's Day,
Memorial Day,
Father's Day, 4th of
July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving or
Christmas Eve,
Christmas Day.
What is a
Boutonniere?
A boutonniere is the
small flower that is
pinned to groom's
lapel. Groomsmen,
ring bearers, and
fathers/grandfathers
may also wear these
flowers.
